About Marion Vignal, Unlock Art Curator
Marion Vignal was born in Paris and has known Le Méridien Etoile since her childhood. Quite naturally, this project bringing together architecture, art and design sparked her interest. She has always appreciated the way the Le Méridien brand gives a central place to art in its hotels. That is why she wanted to participate in Le Méridien Etoile’s new lease of life.
Marion Vignal picked artists whose work would fit the hotel’s new design and also showcase the diversity of Paris’ artistic talent.
Each artwork conveys a vision of Paris in the different areas of the hotel - “a modern, grounded, sensitive Paris, a city geared toward innovation”.
The strength and vibration of Arnold Goron’s sculptures are striking as you enter the lobby and reception areas, while the monotypes of Aurore de la Morinerie evoke a more residential and intimate atmosphere in the Gallery. The photographs of Antony Zaro breathe modernity onto a background of urban poetry. Christian Gastaldi’s compositions set the rhythm in the Jazz Club, echoing the venue’s music.
