More than ever, Le Méridien Etoile acknowledges our environmental responsibilities and continues to work towards sustainable development.

For the sixth year in a row Le Méridien Etoile has attained the Green Key Award.

The most important of the international hotel accommodation awards, the Green Key acknowledges establishments who meet several environmental criteria established at an international level including general environmental management, waste, water and energy management. The award doesn't only recognize systems in place but also new business practices that are in the development stages, so as to ensure long term environmental sustainability.

Since 2005, various actions have been taken by management at Le Méridien Etoile to reduce the energy consumption of this 1025 bedroom hotel, with some examples being the use of florescent lighting in our lobby, low energy consumption bulbs in our executive rooms, the necessity of room keys to activate the lighting in guest rooms and also, the Starwood Green Program which ensures that guest linen is only changed at the request of the client. Our employees have also formed a Green Team to introduce new projects and promote existing ones.

The 100% Local is a concept created by Starwood Hotels & Resorts' Parisian Hotels, which has seen all five head Chefs work together to compose 100% exclusive, 100% local dishes, using only ingredients produced within a 200km radius of Paris. Not only a positive project for the environment, but also a great opportunity to discover some of the best produce of our region and learn more about all the men and women cultivating these products.

Dedicated menus and dishes, as well as our 100% Local Cocktail which is available in the bar, are on the menu at all Parisian properties, who have each introduced their own 100% Local effort influenced by the creativity of their team.
